Parent-Student-Teacher Compact


(Any person who is interested in helping this student may sign in lieu of the parent.) I want my child to achieve his/her full academic potential. Therefore, I will encourage him/her by doing the following.

  • See that my child is punctual and attends school regularly with needed supplies.
  • Support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline.
  • Establish a time and a quiet place for homework without television interruptions.
  • Participate in the educational decision making process when possible.
  • Have on-going communication with my child's school and teacher-volunteering

      whenever possible.

  • Encourage positive use of extracurricular time and activities.
  • Check with my child for information sent home, promptly read and sign it.

It is important that I work to the best of my ability. Therefore, I will strive to do the following:

  • Attend school regularly and work to the best of my ability.
  • Come to school each day with pens, pencils, paper, and the other necessary tools for learning.
  • Complete and return homework assignments on time.
  • Respect and cooperate with other students and adults.
  • Ask for help when I need it.
  • Conform to rules of student conduct at my school.
  • Believe that I can learn and that I will learn.

Students must be given the opportunity to succeed. Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

  • Provide an environment that is safe and conducive to learning the high quality curriculum.
  • Provide information frequently about student progress and the state's achievement


  • Have high expectations for my students, the school, and myself.
  • Determine the student's educational needs and adjust the instruction to accommodate those needs.
  • Maintain availability and on-going open lines of effective communication with my students and their parents in order to support student learning.
  • Seek ways to involve parents in the classroom.
  • Discuss the importance of the compact at Parent Teacher Conference.
