Northside Elementary
2014 Report Card Results
Tennessee is still in the process of making big decisions about curriculum in education. During the last 3-4 years, Northside Elementary has data to prove that the students in DeKalb County arc benefiting frommany of these changes.Achievement is a measure of how well students score when tested over the material learned during that school year. Northside's State Report Card for achievement shows a slight increase in Math and Science over the previous year. "B's" were earned in each academic area for achievement in the 2013-2014 school year.Nationally, educators gauge student leaming not only by the level of achievement, but also in how much growth occurs from year to year. Growth is a measure of how much a student grew compared to the last test taken. Forinstance, if a student scores at the 76111 percentile, he or she must maintain orimprove to have positive growth for the year. Growth for Northside 's State Report Card improved over the previous year. Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies earned all "A's" for the 2013-2014 school year.Northside Elementmy School wants to take this opp011unity to thank parents , families , and community members for their suppo11 and commitment to the students, faculty, and stafT. We arc proud of each of our students and know they have a bright future full of opportunities ahead or them.
