Parent-Student-Teacher Compact

PARENT/GUARDIAN AGREEMENT

(Any person who is interested in helping this student may sign in lieu of the parent.) I want my child to achieve his/her full academic potential. Therefore, I will encourage him/her by doing the following.

See that my child is punctual and attends school regularly with needed supplies.
Support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline.
Establish a time and a quiet place for homework without television interruptions.
Participate in the educational decision making process when possible.
Have on-going communication with my child's school and teacher-volunteering
      whenever possible.

Encourage positive use of extracurricular time and activities.
Check with my child for information sent home, promptly read and sign it.

STUDENT AGREEMENT

It is important that I work to the best of my ability. Therefore, I will strive to do the following:

Attend school regularly and work to the best of my ability.
Come to school each day with pens, pencils, paper, and the other necessary tools for learning.
Complete and return homework assignments on time.
Respect and cooperate with other students and adults.
Ask for help when I need it.
Conform to rules of student conduct at my school.
Believe that I can learn and that I will learn.

TEACHER AGREEMENT

Students must be given the opportunity to succeed. Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

Provide an environment that is safe and conducive to learning the high quality curriculum.
Provide information frequently about student progress and the state's achievement
      standards.

Have high expectations for my students, the school, and myself.
Determine the student's educational needs and adjust the instruction to accommodate those needs.
Maintain availability and on-going open lines of effective communication with my students and their parents in order to support student learning.
Seek ways to involve parents in the classroom.
Discuss the importance of the compact at Parent Teacher Conference.
